RotoBaller's top PGA player props, best bets, and matchup picks for the 2026 Valero Texas Open. Get commission-free odds and market edges with Novig golf picks.
Hi golf fans, and thanks for joining me again here at RotoBaller! This week, we'll take a look at some of the juicier matchup spots and finishing position props available for the Valero Texas Open. While we split last week's matchups portion of the article, we landed a massive whale of an outright with Gary Woodland at just over 110/1 odds! That's the good stuff... I hope you were on board!
This week's picks will all be using the odds on the most unique and fastest-growing sports prediction sites -- Novig. If you're not familiar with the site, I'll explain how it works and provide some of my favorite wagers to place on Novig.
As always, make sure you're following RotoBaller on X and download the RotoBaller app for all your season-long, DFS, and betting needs. Now, here are some of my favorite PGA bets and props for the 2026 Valero Texas Open.

What is Novig?
Novig is one of the fastest-growing peer-to-peer sports prediction markets. On Novig, users trade directly with each other, without the "vig" typically associated with a sportsbook. The vig is the fee sportsbooks charge you to use their services. It's a hidden cost that can be found in the odds that are being offered on each side of a specific bet. When a book offers -110 odds on both sides of a bet, it is keeping close to 10% of every bettor's wager, regardless of whether you win or lose.
On Novig, users trade with each other on the outcomes of sporting events, similarly to the way that investors trade on the stock market. But instead of having to beat the books, you just have to win against other users -- there's no commission kept by the site.
Users can bet on most traditional sports markets, including moneyline bets, spreads, totals, tournament matchups, player props, parlays, and futures!
Novig operates with two virtual currencies. Novig coins can be wagered for fun and to test out strategies, while Novig cash can be wagered on all markets and then redeemed for real cash prizes.
Access to Novig is widespread; it's now accessible in 36 U.S. states.
How Does Novig Work?
Since users are not playing against the books, there is an opportunity to make more money per wager that you win, and users can usually find better values on bets (in terms of the prices being offered) than on traditional sportsbooks.
There are no oddsmakers; users dictate their own odds. You can either accept the odds that the market is offering or set your own odds.
If you set your own odds, another user has to accept them on the other side for the bet to be activated.
Users drive the market, not the sportsbook or oddsmakers!

Sepp Straka (-110 at Novig) OVER JJ Spaun
The number on this one around the industry is floating at Straka -125ish, so I'm fine laying the -110 juice in this spot. The Austrian possesses such a high week-to-week ceiling, while Spaun has been largely struggling to this point in 2026.
Across his last five starts, Straka has just one finish worse than T18. Conversely, over his last five outings, Spaun has cracked a top-25 finish just once, while also missing three cuts - including his most recent start at the Valspar Championship.
After a Cinderella 2025 campaign that included a U.S. Open win and a Ryder Cup appearance, Spaun has turned back into a pumpkin this year. He's been one of the PGA Tour's worst putters, currently ranking 159th in SG: Putting. While he's a former Valero winner, there are simply too many question marks with his game at the moment, while Straka has been consistent in all facets in 2026.
Ryo Hisatsune (+107 at Novig) OVER Nick Taylor
Novig is the only place I've found a plus-money number for Hisatsune in this matchup, and I'm eager to get some chips in the middle on the rising Japanese star in this spot.
Hisatsune is currently ranked eighth on the PGA Tour in SG: T2G, and has really been a beast in all tee-to-green strokes gained categories. That high-level ball-striking has translated into excellent results.
Major respect to Ryo Hisatsune for continuing to put himself out there by doing English interviews. It’s not perfect but it’s improving rapidly and his personality shines through.

Since missing the cut in the season-opening Sony Open, Hisatsune has reeled off eight consecutive made cuts with three top-10s among those outings. This week's TPC San Antonio layout has always been a ball-striker's paradise and Hisatsune recorded a T5 in last year's Valero.
While Taylor is a player I actually like in the grand scheme of things, he's been sporadic with both the driver and putter throughout the month of March, while his course history at Valero is nothing that stands out.

PGA Finishing Position Props

Ryo Hisatsune WINNER (+4248 at Novig)
Will stick with Hisatsune here in the outright market, as Novig offers the only number I've seen above +4000. As mentioned in the matchup write-up for him, the 23-year-old's game has grown by leaps and bounds in 2026, as he steadily ascends the PGA Tour ranks.
A proven winner internationally, Hisatsune already has a DP World Tour and three Japan Challenge Tour titles under his belt, and if his 2026 output is any indicator, a victory at golf's highest level might not be far behind. A TPC San Antonio layout on which he logged a T5 last year makes sense as a breakout environment.
Sudarshan Yellamaraju WINNER (+5782 at Novig)
One of the best stories on the PGA Tour, the self-taught Canadian has emerged from obscurity to become a legit force on the PGA Tour over the past month. An eye-opening T5 at The PLAYERS put him on the map for lots of golf cappers, but his form before and after that performance at TPC Sawgrass shows this isn't a one-hit-wonder situation.
24-year-old Sudarshan Yellamaraju, who learned to play golf via YouTube, has an outside chance at @THEPLAYERS title in his tournament debut.
Who is he?

Yellamaraju had quietly made five of six cuts ahead of The PLAYERS, and looked razor sharp in his first post-Sawgrass start, posting a T6 last week in Houston. Why I believe this run is sustainable - especially this week at Valero - is that it isn't simply based on a nuclear-hot putter (though he is a good putter), but is instead driven by excellence both OTT and on Approach.
