1 week agoNew Orleans wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith appeared in his first game of the 2022 season in Week 3, going for four catches and 105 yards in a loss to the Carolina Panthers. Smith was pressed into service after the team lost both Michael Thomas (toe) and Jarvis Landry (foot) to injuries. Smith will look for another big game in Week 4's home matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Smith's Week 4 value in fantasy hinges directly on the availability of Thomas and Landry. If they don't play, he can be treated as a boom/bust flex option. If they do suit up, Smith should not be in fantasy lineups for Week 4.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

3 weeks agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (shoulder) was a limited participant at practice throughout the week and is questionable to play on Sunday against Tampa. The 26-year-old didn't suit up in Week 1 after suffering the injury during the final game of the preseason. With Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and Chris Olave in the lineup, Smith's fantasy potential isn't promising, so his availability for Week 2 will only impact the most desperate managers.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
3 weeks agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday. He was inactive for Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons after picking up a shoulder injury during the preseason finale. The 26-year-old will look to log a full practice on Thursday or Friday to improve his chances of suiting up for Week 2 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith is buried on the depth chart behind Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and Chris Olave. Fantasy managers can leave Smith on the waiver for now.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: New Orleans Saints
Share:
6 months agoThe New Orleans Saints are re-signing wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith to a two-year deal with a base value of $6 million on Monday. Smith will have a chance to earn another $4.5 million through incentives/escalators. The deal also includes $2 million guaranteed. The 26-year-old finished his fourth year in New Orleans with 32 receptions on 50 targets for 377 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games (six starts). With Michael Thomas returning from injury in 2022, Smith is unlikely to suddenly break out with quarterback Jameis Winston running more of a ball-control offense in his second season as the full-time starter. Smith could have a better year if he can stay healthy, but the fantasy upside remains limited.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates
Share:
7 months agoFormer New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith, who was drafted by Atlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot, will visit the Falcons on Thursday, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The Falcons have also visited with former Cleveland Browns wideout Jarvis Landry and are extremely desperate for pass-catchers with Calvin Ridley suspended for all of 2022. Smith was a third-round pick by the Saints in 2018 and has 112 catches for 1,486 yards and 17 touchdowns on 169 targets in 51 career NFL games. The Falcons also lost Russell Gage to free agency. They'll surely be looking at the position in the draft, as their only receivers on roster right now are Frank Darby, Chad Hansen and Austin Trammell.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter
Share:
9 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receivers Tre'Quan Smith (chest) and Ty Montgomery (back) were limited in practice all week and were removed from the final injury report for Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons. Running back Mark Ingram II (knee), however, missed the last two days of practice and is questionable to play. Smith will return after missing Week 17, but fantasy managers should be able to find more upside for their flex spots. Smith is averaging 2.7 catches and 30.1 receiving yards while scoring two touchdowns in 10 games this season. Ingram appears to be in danger of missing his second straight game with a knee injury that has bothered him in the second half of the season. Tony Jones Jr. would be in line to back up Alvin Kamara again, but he won't have any standalone fantasy value.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NewOrleansSaints.com
Share:
9 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (chest) and running back Mark Ingram II (knee) were both limited in practice on Wednesday after sitting out the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers. It looks as though the Saints could be getting both players back in a Week 18 must-win regular season finale against the Atlanta Falcons. Smith has mostly been a desperation flex play in deeper leagues this year, and he's averaging just 2.7 catches and 30.1 receiving yards in 10 games. He has a career-low two touchdowns. With Deonte Harris back from his suspension, Smith should be ignored if he returns. Tony Jones Jr. had just one carry for negative-two yards with Ingram out last weekend. Ingram carries no standalone fantasy value as long as Alvin Kamara is healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NewOrleansSaints.com
Share:
9 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (chest) missed practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Receivers Lil'Jordan Humphrey (illness) and Ty Montgomery (back) were listed as questionable. Neither Humphrey nor Montgomery were able to practice on Friday, putting their status in question this weekend. The good news for the Saints offense is that Deonte Harris is back from his suspension and the COVID-19 list, so he and Marquez Callaway should serve as the team's top two pass-catchers against the Panthers. Even if Humphrey and Montgomery play, they aren't realistic flex options in this low-volume Saints passing offense with quarterback Taysom Hill running the show.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NewOrleansSaints.com
Share:
9 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receivers Tre'Quan Smith (chest) and Ty Montgomery (back) both missed practice on Thursday. It was Smith's second straight day on the sidelines, while Montgomery was added to the injury report on Thursday. Two straight missed practices for Smith doesn't bode well for his chances of playing on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Both Smith and Montgomery will likely have to practice on Friday in order to play in Week 17. Deonte Harris is still suspended, so Marquez Callaway, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Kenny Stills would operate in three-wide sets if Smith and Montgomery weren't able to play this weekend. Callaway has been the best fantasy receiver in New Orleans, but he's merely on the WR4/5 borderline in the Saints run-first offense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NewOrleansSaints.com
Share:
9 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (chest) was unable to take part in practice on Wednesday. Smith played 14 offensive snaps in the Monday night loss to the Miami Dolphins before departing with a chest injury and never returning. The 25-year-old wasn't targeted at all by rookie quarterback Ian Book, who was making his first career start. Smith could be facing an uphill battle to play in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. The good news for the Saints offense is that quarterback Taysom Hill is back from the COVID-19 list, but fantasy managers have found it hard to trust any of the New Orleans pass-catchers on a consistent basis in 2021. Marquez Callaway is your best bet, while Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Kenny Stills would see expanded roles if Smith is unable to play on Sunday afternoon.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NewOrleansSaints.com
Share:
9 months agoNew Orleans wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (chest) sustained a chest injury in Monday's 20-3 loss to the Miami Dolphins. He exited to the locker room in the first half and wasn't targeted before leaving Monday's game. The 25-year-old is considered day-to-day. Smith has caught 27 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns over 10 games in 2021. Unless quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian are activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list before Week 17, the Saints passing game is one fantasy managers can avoid with Ian Book under center. Marquez Callaway and Lil' Jordan Humphrey will be the Saints' top two wideouts if Smith misses any time.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: Nick Underhill
Share:
10 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (shoulder) was listed as limited on the team's estimated Thursday practice report. Marquez Callaway has been the most productive Saints receiver from a fantasy standpoint. Smith has two touchdowns on the year and hasn't found the end zone since Week 10 while not exceeding five catches or 64 yards in any single game. In the last four games, Smith has been extremely mediocre, catching 11 of 18 targets for 96 yards and no touchdowns. The Saints will be down to rookie quarterback Ian Book on Monday night against the Miami Dolphins with both Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian testing positive for COVID-19, so Smith should absolutely not be trusted in fantasy starting lineups.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The New Orleans Times-Picayune - Amie Just
Share:
10 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith managed two receptions for 17 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over the Bucs. Despite minimal competition for targets, Smith has struggled to produce mostly all season, now recording 33 yards or less in the last four contests. Given Deonte Harris is still suspended and the Saints' pass-catching group is thin, Smith projects as a deep-league flex for next week against a Miami team that allows the fifth-most points to fantasy wideouts.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
Share:
10 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith is a flex option for deep leagues against Tampa in Week 15. Smith hasn't been the most reliable fantasy option this season, and he has now posted 33 yards or less in the last three games. Tampa is middle-of-the-pack against fantasy wideouts, so Smith is still worth considering as a deep-league flex as Deonte Harris will also be out due to a suspension.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
10 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith managed three receptions for 33 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over the Jets. The WR has been struggling lately as he hasn't posted more than 33 yards in the last three weeks. With Deonte Harris suspended for the next two games, Smith should be considered a strong option in this passing game. In terms of fantasy, he would only be worth considering as a deep-league flex at best.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
