3 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie caught seven of his nine targets for 76 yards and a touchdown while adding a six-yard rush in a 21-19 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. McKenzie hauled in an eight-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen in the second quarter, the former's second score of the season. The veteran slot receiver has now caught 11 balls for 132 yards through three games, with his receiving yardage ranking second on the team behind only Stefon Diggs. McKenzie will be a decent flex option in what could be a Week 4 shootout against the Baltimore Ravens.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

5 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie has failed to make much of an impact through the first two weeks of the season. Through two games, McKenzie has four receptions for 56 yards and one touchdown. His biggest problem is that he'll need to compete with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis (ankle) for targets. Last week, the Bills were without Davis and McKenzie still posted a dud. At this point, it's unlikely that McKenzie is going to be consistently involved in this offensive attack. He'll be a desperation option in PPR formats, but should be avoided in most leagues right now.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Pro Football Reference

1 week agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie didn't make much noise during the season opener, but had a chance to really make himself known on Monday. Fellow wideout Gabe Davis (ankle) was inactive, which should've meant a big game for McKenzie. However, the slot receiver finished with two receptions on three targets and 37 receiving yards in the blowout win over the Tennessee Titans. Stefon Diggs stole the show and everyone else on the roster picked up the scraps. McKenzie has put together back-to-back disappointing outings, which is going to make him a deep league flex going forward. At this point, there should be more reliable options on the waiver wire.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie could see increased value heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Fellow wideout Gabe Davis (ankle) is questionable for this matchup, which means McKenzie could see more action. Last week, McKenzie hauled in two of his three targets for 19 yards and one touchdown in the win. The Bills will likely look his way more often, assuming Davis is unable to play. The Tennessee Titans struggled to cover the pass last season, which is good news for the Bills offense. McKenzie could be able to hold low-end WR3 value without Davis on the field.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Pro Football Reference
Share:
3 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie was a shaky fantasy option heading into Thursday's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. It was uncertain how the targets would be split up. It was a bit of a mixed result for McKenzie in the season opener. He hauled in two of his three targets for 19 yards and one touchdown in the win. Fellow slot receiver Jamison Crowder finished with three receptions for 28 yards, so not much better. It seems that Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis are going to get a bulk of the targets. That means, McKenzie, Crowder, and Dawson Knox are going to be an afterthought most weeks. It's tough to trust McKenzie as anything more than a low-end WR4 heading into next week.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
3 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (groin) appears to be ready to play after getting in back-to-back practices. The 27-year-old is expected to begin the season as the starting slot receiver in Buffalo. However, Jamison Crowder is also likely to see snaps in the slot, which could make for a frustrating situation in fantasy leagues. The expectation is that McKenzie will see a full workload against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. However, it's uncertain how the Bills plan to share the targets. That being said, McKenzie should be viewed as a shaky WR4 for this Thursday night matchup.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Pro Football Reference
Share:
3 weeks agoBuffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said he thinks wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (groin) will be ready for the Week 1 regular season opener this Thursday night against the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. McKenzie was listed as a full practice participant on Monday, so unless a setback occurs, it looks like he'll be active as the team's starting slot receiver alongside Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Veteran Jamison Crowder is also an option in the slot, but McKenzie's stellar play in training camp this summer earned him the starting gig to begin the season. The 27-year-old's after-the-catch ability in this potent Bills offense makes him a WR4/flex option in Week 1 in deeper fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: WGR550 - Sal Capaccio
Share:
3 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (groin) was listed as a full practice participant on Monday on the first injury report of the 2022 season. Barring a setback, McKenzie will be ready to roll for the Week 1 regular season opener on Thursday night against the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. With a strong training camp this summer, the 27-year-old solidified himself as Buffalo's top option in the slot over veteran Jamison Crowder. McKenzie will start in three-receiver sets alongside Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, and he's a popular breakout candidate in fantasy in 2022 with plenty of after-the-catch ability. In his first game this season against a strong Rams defense, McKenzie will be an RB4/flex in deeper fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Share:
4 weeks agoBuffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (undisclosed) will return to practice on Sunday. McKenzie isn't a lock to kick off the 2022 season on Thursday night against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, but he's moving in the right direction. The 27-year-old really impressed in training camp this summer and projects to open the year as the starting slot wideout in Buffalo over veteran Jamison Crowder. Crowder will still have a role, but McKenzie is the better fantasy target with more after-the-catch ability and pure upside in an explosive Bills offense. McKenzie is a nice late-round target with upside in deeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Buffalo News - Jay Skurski
Share:
4 weeks agoBuffalo Bills slot wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (undisclosed) suffered an injury in practice last Saturday and has not practiced since. General manager Brandon Beane said it would be hard to hold McKenzie out of the Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams next Thursday, but said "we'll see." It doesn't appear to be a serious injury for the 27-year-old, but he'll have a little less time to recover with the Week 1 opener coming on Thursday night against the defending Super Bowl champions. We'll have a better idea of McKenzie's status next week, but if he can't go or is limited, it will open up more playing time in the slot for veteran Jamison Crowder, who could be a DFS sleeper in PPR scoring.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Alaina Getzenberg
Share:
1 month agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie was the only slot receiver to take snaps during the second preseason game on Saturday. That being said, it appears that McKenzie is the favorite to be the main slot option for Buffalo. The Bills do have Jamison Crowder who is expected to get involved as well. Those two will likely battle it out for playing time in the slot. McKenzie has shown the ability to make plays over the last few years in Buffalo. They will likely trust him to take on a bigger role if needed. There is certainly fantasy value here with McKenzie, assuming he wins the starting slot spot. Regardless, he's worth stashing in deep leagues and dynasty formats.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic
Share:
2 months agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie has been one of the standouts of the team's training camp to this point. He's been with the team since 2018 and has slowly worked himself into more significant roles over the years. "Job's up for grabs," McKenzie said of the slot receiver role. "Jamison Crowder came in, and he's had a great career. He came in to compete with me, and I came back to compete with him. I know it wasn't going to be easy, and I know it's not easy now." McKenzie has done everything he can to lead the competition with Crowder missing five of the first eight practices. The 27-year-old has a good chance to be one of quarterback Josh Allen's trusted aerial targets, although he may not actually be worth a draft pick in fantasy until it's official that he's won the job over Crowder.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia
Share:
2 months agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie seems to have taken a step forward, and he has a big opportunity this year with veteran slot man Cole Beasley now gone. McKenzie is contending with Jamison Crowder for the starting slot job, and he has continued his improvement early in training camp. With Crowder out the last three practices with "general soreness," it has allowed McKenzie to maximize his repetitions with quarterback Josh Allen. McKenzie's route-running has taken a step up, as has his savvy to find soft spots in the defense. The 27-year-old has plenty of speed to spare, but his deceptiveness could allow him to take the next step. He'll need to continue to stand out when the pads go on this weekend, but if Crowder keeps missing practice and McKenzie keeps playing well, McKenzie could win the slot job rather quickly.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia
Share:
2 months agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie opened Bills training camp by getting "virtually all the first-team reps" as the team's slot receiver, according to Greg Tompsett. McKenzie will be battling with Jamison Crowder for slot duties, but it seems like a good sign the 27-year-old is getting the first crack in training camp. McKenzie saw just 26 targets during the 2021 season, which turned into 20 receptions for 178 yards and one touchdown while adding nine carries for 47 yards and a score. Even if he does earn the role of starting slot wide receiver heading into Week 1, the speedster will be competing with Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, and Dawson Knox for targets. Still, Crowder has shown he can be a capable slot receiver so he shouldn't be ignored just yet. As of now, McKenzie is a late-round dart throw in fantasy drafts.--Tommy Adamopoulos - RotoBallerSource: Greg Tompsett
Share:
3 months agoWGRZ's Vic Carucci is predicting that Buffalo Bills veteran wide receiver Jamison Crowder will win the starting slot receiver role in training camp. Crowder is relatively small with a limited catch radius, but he makes up for it with short-area quickness/explosiveness. He also has enough speed to gain plenty of yards after the catch. Isaiah McKenzie and Tavon Austin will compete in the slot with Crowder. McKenzie has exceptional speed and elusiveness, but Carucci seems him continuing to have more of a specialty role in the offense. The 27-year-old had just 20 receptions for 178 yards and one touchdown in 15 regular season games in his third full season with Buffalo in 2021. He could become an intriguing waiver-wire pickup during the season if Crowder suffers an injury that allows McKenzie to become a starter in the slot.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: WGRZ - Vic Carucci
