Marquez Callaway Signs With Broncos
1 hour agoThe Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with free-agent wide receiver Marquez Callaway. The 24-year-old is reunited with head coach Sean Payton after spending the two last seasons with him in New Orleans. Callaway struggled last season, but posted 46 receptions, 698 yards, and six touchdowns in 2021. That being said, the potential is there for Callaway to be a successful receiver in the league. Sadly, he'll have to compete with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, and K.J. Hamler for snaps in Denver. Possibly, Callaway could have value if someone gets injured or traded. Until then, Callaway can be ignored in fantasy formats heading into the new season.Source: Jeremy Fowler
Marquise Goodwin Signing With Browns
1 hour agoFree-agent wide receiver Marquise Goodwin has signed with the Cleveland Browns. It appears the two sides have agreed on a one-year deal, but the salary is unknown at this moment. The veteran wideout posted 27 receptions, 387 yards, and four touchdowns in 13 games with the Seattle Seahawks last season. The 32-year-old hasn't posted a 400-yard season since 2017. To be fair, the 2017 campaign was the last time that Goodwin was a full-time starter. The expectation is that Goodwin will serve as the fourth option behind Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, and Donovan Peoples-Jones. That being said, it's hard to imagine Goodwin having much value unless one or two other receivers get injured.Source: Field Yates
Panthers Release Zane Gonzalez
2 hours agoCarolina Panthers kicker Zane Gonzalez has been released by the organization. This is odd timing considering the Panthers recently said they were going to stick with Gonzalez. Now, they've re-signed kicker Eddy Pineiro to a two-year deal and parted ways with Gonzalez. The 27-year-old missed all of last season due to a groin issue. Gonzalez has five years of experience under his belt, so he should be able to find another opportunity. However, his career 80.5 field goal percentage doesn't scream reliable kicker. Gonzalez should get a chance with another organization to at least prove himself in camp.Source: Charlotte Observer
David Blough Re-Signs With Cardinals
2 hours agoArizona Cardinals quarterback David Blough has re-signed with the organization. Blough spent time with three different organizations last season. However, he ended the season with the Cardinals and even made two starts for the team. He completed 38-of-58 passes for 402 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in those two starts. Blough has made a total of nine appearances in his four seasons in the league. The 27-year-old is expected to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster in training camp.Source: Darren Urban
Eagles Sign Terrell Edmunds
2 hours agoThe Philadelphia Eagles have agreed on a deal with free-agent defensive back Terrell Edmunds. He's a former first round pick who has spent the last five seasons as a starter with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The expectation is that Edmunds is going to fill the vacant spot left by C.J. Gardner-Johnson who signed with the Detroit Lions. Edmunds is a durable and fairly reliable defensive back. He has played 15 games or more in each of his first five seasons. Edmunds isn't the best in pass coverage, but a serviceable option on a one-year deal.Source: Ian Rapoport
Blake Bell Remaining With Chiefs
2 hours agoKansas City Chiefs tight end Blake Bell has re-signed with the organization. The veteran tight end will enter his fourth season with the team. Bell has been mainly a backup throughout his career, which is what he'll remain in Kansas City. The 31-year-old has 60 receptions, 641 yards, and one touchdown through eight seasons in the league. He'll be battling for a backup role alongside Jody Fortson and Noah Gray. There is no reason to believe Bell will have fantasy value next season.Source: Ian Rapoport
DJ Chark Joins Panthers
2 hours agoThe Carolina Panthers have agreed on a deal with wide receiver DJ Chark. The two sides have comes to terms on a one-year deal. Chark spent his 2022 season with the Detroit Lions, but it didn't go as planned. He finished with 30 receptions, 502 yards, and three touchdowns in 11 games last season. Despite that, Chark has proven to be a reliable option earlier in his career. He'll be a nice addition to put alongside Adam Thielen as the Panthers attempt to recover from the departure of DJ Moore. The move to Carolina should help Chark's value, but he probably won't be anything more than a low-end WR3.Source: Ian Rapoport
Ravens Agree To One-Year Deal With Nelson Agholor
3 hours agoThe Baltimore Ravens agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million deal with free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor on Friday, according to a source. Agholor will have another $3 million available in incentives as part of the deal. A first-round pick back in 2015, Agholor has underwhelmed in his eight NFL seasons and has yet to reach the 1,000-yard mark heading into 2023. That's unlikely to happen in Baltimore, even if quarterback Lamar Jackson sticks around, although he should have a bigger role than what he saw in 2022 with the New England Patriots, when he caught 31 of his 53 targets for just 362 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games (seven starts). As of right now, the 29-year-old profiles as the No. 2 behind Rashod Bateman, but the Ravens could also add receiving talent through the upcoming draft.Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec
DeAndre Carter Visiting With Raiders
4 hours agoFree-agent wide receiver DeAndre Carter is visiting the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday, according to a source. Carter is coming off career-highs in catches (46), targets (65) and receiving yards (538) in 2022 with the Los Angeles Chargers in 17 games (seven starts), and he also tied his previous career-high with three touchdowns. The 29-year-old also played a vital role for the Bolts' special teams unit last year. His free-agent market is beginning to heat up, with several other teams in the mix as well. The Raiders already have a strong top three receivers in Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Hunter Renfrow, so if Carter were to sign with the team, he'd be providing depth alongside the likes of Phillip Dorsett, Cam Sims and Keelan Cole.Source: The Score - Jordan Schultz
Eagles Give Lane Johnson One-Year Extension
4 hours agoThe Philadelphia Eagles gave All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson a one-year, $33.445 million contract extension on Friday that includes $30 million guaranteed, according to a source. Johnson is now under contract through the 2026 season. He hasn't given up a sack in the last two years, despite playing last postseason with a torn adductor muscle in his groin. The 32-year-old veteran will return to the Eagles for an 11th season in 2023 after having surgery on his groin in February after the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He could be ready by the time the team begins their offseason workouts, but if not, he should be fully recovered by training camp in the summer. Having Johnson on the right side of the offensive line is a tremendous asset for the Eagles explosive offense.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Bryce Young Impresses At Pro Day
17 hours agoAlabama quarterback Bryce Young had a strong throwing session at his Pro Day on Thursday. It may not have been an eye-popping day for the potential No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, but his performance was smooth and lived up to expectations based on his outstanding play for Alabama in his two seasons as the starter. "There's never been a more instinctive guy," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. "(Young) plays the quarterback position like a point guard -- he's got great instincts, great feel, can change arm angles, very accurate with the ball, really quick processor and decision-maker." If Young does come off the board at No. 1 overall in April, he'll be taking his talents to the Carolina Panthers and would likely be starting from Day 1.Source: NFL.com - Eric Edholm
Panthers Re-Sign Eddy Pineiro To Two-Year Deal
17 hours agoThe Carolina Panthers re-signed kicker Eddy Pineiro to an undisclosed two-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Pineiro will return for his second season in Carolina after going 33-for-35 on his field-goal tries and 30-for-32 on extra-point attempts in 17 games. In addition to 2022 being his best in his third NFL campaign, Pineiro also went 15-for-16 from 40-plus yards. Even with Carolina's offense struggling to find a consistent quarterback all year, the 27-year-old was able to finish the year as a top-10 fantasy kicker. The Panthers offense could once again struggle to punch the ball into the end zone with a rookie signal-caller at the helm in 2023, so Pineiro should make a decent low-end fantasy kicking target this fall.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Tony Jones Jr. Signs One-Year Deal With Broncos
17 hours agoFormer New Orleans Saints running back Tony Jones Jr. signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Denver Broncos on Thursday, according to a source. Jones played in just six games last year between the Saints and Seattle Seahawks and had just 10 carries for 24 yards and five receptions for 30 yards. In the previous two seasons for the Saints, he combined for 57 carries, 155 yards and no touchdowns while adding five catches for 29 yards through the air in 12 games (five starts). Jones could have a slightly bigger role early on behind Samaje Perine for Denver if Javonte Williams (knee) isn't ready to go, but even in that scenario, Jones won't have much fantasy upside. The Broncos could also add to the position in the draft, which would further bury Jones on his new team's depth chart.Source: 9 News - Mike Klis
Will Levis Meeting With Panthers Thursday
23 hours agoKentucky quarterback Will Levis is having dinner with Carolina Panthers owners David and Nicole Tepper, general manager Scott Fitterer, head coach Frank Reich, assistant GM Dan Morgan, vice president Samir Suleiman and assistant coaches Jim Caldwell, Thomas Brown and Josh McCown on Thursday, according to sources. Levis will throw during his school's Pro Day on Friday. While most pundits expect the Panthers to take either Alabama's Bryce Young or Ohio State's C.J. Stroud with the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, they are doing their due diligence with another signal-caller projected to go early in the first round. The 23-year-old's numbers in college leave something to be desired, but he has a cannon for an arm and can also pick up yards with his legs. It would be a surprise if he isn't taken in the first 10 picks of next month's draft.Source: NBC Sports Boston - Albert Breer
Buccaneers Release Ryan Succop
23 hours agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers released kicker Ryan Succop on Thursday. Succop spent the last three years with the Bucs, but he'll now look for work elsewhere heading into the 2023 season. In his time in Tampa, he made 84 of his 99 field-goal attempts and went 132-for-141 on extra points in 50 regular season contests. The 36-year-old kicker went 31-for-38 on his field goals and missed one of his 25 extra-point tries in 17 regular season games for the team. In his 14-year NFL career, Succop has made 82.9 percent of his 320 field-goal tries during the regular season and has been successful on 96.1 percent of his extra points.Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
