Ryan McMahon To Sit Out On Saturday
2 mins agoColorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins. The 28-year-old will get a breather here, so his absence doesn't appear to be injured related. Alan Trejo will cover third base and bat eighth versus right-hander Emilio Pagan on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups with McMahon on the bench.Source: MLB.com
Luis Arraez Remains Out On Saturday
17 mins agoMiami Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez (ankle) remains out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This marks the sixth game in a row that Arraez has missed due to a lingering ankle issue. He was able to come off the bench on Friday, so the expectation is that he could do it again on Saturday. Possibly, Arraez returns to the lineup on Sunday or the Marlins might wait until the postseason, assuming the Marlins make it. In his absence, Jon Berti will cover second base and bat seventh versus right-hander Quinn Priester on Saturday evening.Source: MLB.com
Adley Rutschman Returns On Saturday

Christian Yelich Out Of The Lineup On Saturday
28 mins agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. This appears to be a routine rest day for the veteran outfielder. The Brewers continue to monitor Yelich down the stretch as they want to keep him fresh for the postseason. The expectation is that he'll return for Sunday's series finale. In the meantime, Tyrone Taylor will cover right field and bat sixth versus left-hander Jordan Wicks on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with Yelich on the bench.Source: MLB.com
Michael Brantley Resting On Saturday
36 mins agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The veteran outfielder made his season debut in August after missing over a year due to shoulder surgery. He also missed eight games earlier this month due to soreness in the same shoulder. Brantley has been a solid hitter when healthy, but keeping him in the lineup has been a struggle. Chas McCormick will cover left field and bat sixth versus right-hander Merrill Kelly on Saturday.Source: MLB.com
Nico Hoerner Out Of The Lineup On Saturday
43 mins agoChicago Cubs infielder Nico Hoerner (knee) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. This comes after Hoerner fouled a ball off his knee during Friday's game. Luckily, it appears Hoerner has avoided serious injury and is available off the bench for this game. Frankie Montas Activated On Saturday
1 hour agoNew York Yankees pitcher Frankie Montas (shoulder) has been activated from the 60-day injured list on Saturday. The right-hander has missed the entire season while recovering from shoulder surgery. He'll make his return on Saturday and is expected to work in relief at some point this weekend. The 30-year-old is set to become a free agent after the season. That being said, Montas will get a chance to show both the Yankees and possible other suitors what he has to offer over the final few games of the regular season.Source: New York Yankees
Luis Campusano Placed On 10-Day Injured List
1 hour agoSan Diego Padres catcher Luis Campusano (ankle) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. The Padres were taking things as day-to-day with Campusano, but it appears that wasn't working. Now, he'll land on the injured list, which basically means he's done for the season. The Padres figure to split up the playing time between Brett Sullivan and Chandler Seagle over the final few games of the regular season.Source: CBS Sports
Felix Bautista To Undergo Tommy John Surgery
1 hour agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Felix Bautista (elbow) is set to undergo Tommy John surgery, according to Nathan Ruiz. This is a shame after it appeared that Bautista was making good progress in his recovery. The 28-year-old will miss the rest of this season and the entire 2024 campaign as well. Awful news as Bautista emerged as an elite option out of the bullpen for the O's this season. It's uncertain how the team plans to address their closer situation heading into 2024. For now, Yennier Cano figures to see a majority of the save chances for the rest of this season.Source: Nathan Ruiz
Brandon Nimmo Not In The Lineup For Game 1 Of Saturday's Doubleheader
5 hours agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (leg, shoulder) is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies. Nimmo has been dealing with a sore right leg and has been in and out of the lineup over the past week. It's not yet known if he will play in the second game of the doubleheader. Nimmo has put together a nice season overall for the Mets, slashing .274/.363/.466 with 24 home runs, 68 RBI, and three stolen bases over 592 at-bats. Both the home runs and the RBI are career highs for the 30-year-old. Rafael Ortega is starting in center field and batting leadoff against Taijuan Walker in Saturday's opening bill.Source: MLB.com
Bruce Zimmermann Recalled From Triple-A
5 hours agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Bruce Zimmermann has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday. The left-handed reliever will be taking the place of Jorge Lopez, who was designated for assignment. The 28-year-old has really struggled in the majors this season, albeit over a small sample size, posting a 5.56 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 12:10 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings of relief with Baltimore. He'll provide some bullpen depth over the final two regular season games for the O's.Source: Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports
Jorge Lopez Designated For Assignment By The Orioles
5 hours agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Jorge Lopez was designated for assignment on Saturday. Lopez was traded from the Twins to the Marlins prior to the trade deadline back in July. He proceeded to struggle mightily with Miami and was waived before subsequently being claimed by the Orioles in early September. He is ineligible for the O's postseason roster so this DFA makes sense. Lopez was all over the place this season, compiling a sloppy 6.12 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 47:21 K/BB ratio over 57 1/3 innings of relief between the Twins, Marlins, and Orioles. Baltimore recalled left-handed reliever Bruce Zimmermann in a corresponding move.Source: Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports
Ramon Laureano Not In The Lineup On Saturday For The Guardians
5 hours agoCleveland Guardians outfielder Ramon Laureano is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Detroit Tigers. This looks to just be a day off for the 29-year-old outfielder. Laureano struggled mightily with the A's to begin the season but has picked his game up since joining Cleveland in early August after Oakland designated him for assignment in early August. Overall, he's slashing .228/.308/.376 with nine home runs, 35 RBI, and 11 stolen bases over 356 at-bats. Will Brennan is starting in right field and will bat seventh against Will Vest and the Detroit Tigers.Source: MLB.com
Osleivis Basabe Not In The Lineup On Saturday
6 hours agoTampa Bay Rays rookie infielder Osleivis Basabe (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Basabe exited Friday's contest early after injuring his shoulder while diving for a ball at third base. Manager Kevin Cash told reporters after the game that the 23-year-old was sore and would need further evaluation. The former top prospect should be considered day-to-day as Taylor Walls takes his place in the lineup against Hyun Jin Ryu and the Blue Jays. The team should provide another update on Basabe prior to Sunday's regular-season finale.Source: MLB.com
Brandon Belt Resting On Saturday
6 hours agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman/designated hitter Brandon Belt is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. George Springer is serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff, while Cavan Biggio draws a start in right field and is hitting in the two-hole against Rays right-handed opener Shawn Armstrong. Belt has gone deep in back-to-back games, but the 35-year-old left-handed-hitting veteran will get a day of rest before the regular season finale on Sunday. He's missed some time with injuries in his first year in Toronto, but overall Belt has been solid with a .252 average (83-for-329) with 17 homers and 41 RBI. He's played in just six games (five starts) in September due to injury, but he's gone 5-for-17 (.294) with two homers and a double.Source: MLB.com
