Zack Wheeler Could Sign Before Winter Meetings
5 years agoStarting pitcher Zack Wheeler could sign a deal before the winter meetings next week in San Diego, and reported bidding has already hit $100 million for the right-hander. The White Sox, Twins and Rangers are just several of the interested parties. Wheeler has already met with several teams in person as well. The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries in the past, but he's been healthy the last two seasons and went 11-8 with a 3.96 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 in 195 1/3 innings over 31 starts for the Mets this season. The arrow continues to point up for Wheeler if he can stay healthy and limit his walks.
