Zach Wilson Won't Start Against Bears
2 years agoNew York Jets players were informed during a team meeting on Wednesday that quarterback Zach Wilson will not start in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, according to sources. Wilson is being benched despite going 5-2 on the season, with both of his losses coming to the New England Patriots. Not only is the 23-year-old being benched, but he will be a healthy scratch as the No. 3 QB behind Mike White and Joe Flacco. Wilson went 9-for-22 for just 77 yards in Sunday's loss to the Pats. Head coach Robert Saleh said the team still views Wilson as the franchise's long-term QB but that he's in need of a reset after missing the first three games of 2022 due to a knee injury. He has four touchdowns and five interceptions and is averaging just 6.8 yards per attempt in his seven starts.
