Yonny Chirinos Moved To Triple-A In Rehab
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos has been moved up to Triple-A Durham as he continues to rehab his forearm strain. He will make the second of several starts in his rehab, and the promotion is a positive sign. Chirinos wants to return by early June, but that is only going to happen if everything goes as planned. He's been out since late April due to a mild right flexor tendon strain. It sounds like he is going to miss a couple more weeks. He's posting a 3.71 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 24/9 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings this season. Chirinos is not worth holding or stashing in any leagues, but once he's healthy, he could become a reliable fantasy option, especially in deeper leagues.
