The New York Yankees selected Arizona catcher Austin Wells with the 28th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. The Yankees liked Wells enough to take him in the 35th round out of high school in 2018, and they've now drafted him a second time. The left-handed catcher has power to all fields with a good setup at the dish. He has been known to strike out often, but Wells will also take his walks. However, he's inconsistent with his throws on defense and is a decent enough athlete that he could be moved to first base or left field. Even if the 20-year-old doesn't last behind the plate with New York, his bat should play.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
