Yankees Agree With Francisco Vilorio
11 months agoThe New York Yankees agreed to terms with outfielder Francisco Vilorio, MLB.com's No. 15 international prospect, on Monday to open the 2024 international signing period. The Yankees lost $1 million from their international signing pool when they signed left-hander Carlos Rodon last offseason. Vilorio is a tall, projectable outfielder with plenty of power potential. He has a chance to hit for both average and power down the road and has already shown emerging raw power from the right side of the plate, and more strength should come as his body matures. Vilorio projects as a middle-of-the-order bat whose offensive potential makes him valuable, but he's also working to improve on the defensive side and could stick in center field. He has the arm strength and the bat tool to profile as a right-fielder down the road.
