Xavier Legette Should See More Targets Against Commanders
2 months agoCarolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Xavier Legette recorded his second-best game of the year last week against Atlanta in Week 6 he hauled in three of four targets and one touchdown. Still very much a touchdown-or-bust candidate, Legette remains a flex option against the Washington Commanders in Week 7. However, Panthers receiver Diontae Johnson (ankle, hamstring, ribs) team leader in targets—remains questionable for Sunday with an ankle injury, practicing only on Friday in a limited capacity. With Adam Thielen (hamstring) still on injured reserve, Legette could find himself as the Panthers' WR1 this week. This a tantalizing prospect, considering Washington is 30th in points allowed to receivers, in large part due to their high-scoring, fast-paced offense. If Dalton can get Legette involved early, he could be in line for one of his best performances of the year. The Panthers rookie wideout is on the flex radar and is currently WR44 in the latest RotoBaller wide receiver rankings.
