William Nylander Adds Three Points In Toronto Win
5 years agoThe Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Winnipeg Jets 6-3 in a battle between two high-powered offenses. Forward William Nylander led the way for Toronto with two goals and an assist. He now has 11 points in the last five games. With 19 goals in 42 games, he’s on pace to blow past his career-high of 22 set back in 2016-17. Kasperi Kapanen had a goal and an assist and now has four points in the last four games. Alexander Kerfoot added two assists and now has five points in five games. Winnipeg actually out-shot Toronto but Frederik Andersen survived the barrage by stopping 45 of 48 shots. It was his second game in a row with a save percentage of .930 or better after three sub-.900 performances. Both Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist in the losing effort. Patrik Laine had a goal and an eye-popping 13 shots.
