White Sox Call Up Korey Lee
1 year agoThe Chicago White Sox recalled catching prospect Korey Lee from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned catcher Carlos Perez to Charlotte in a corresponding move on Thursday before their series opener against the Oakland Athletics. Lee, the team's No. 18 prospect per MLB Pipeline, came over from the Houston Astros in the deal that sent reliever Kendall Graveman to Houston. The 25-year-old backstop has seen his power stroke diminish in the minors this year, as he's hit only five long balls in 82 games at Triple-A Sugar Land and Charlotte after clubbing 25 home runs for Sugar Land in 2022. However, he's also hit .278 (93-for-334) this year and has added 13 stolen bases. Lee could become attractive in two-catcher leagues the rest of the way with semi-regular playing time for the out-of-contention White Sox.
