Wade Davis Blows Third Save Of 2018
7 years agoColorado Rockies closer Wade Davis succumbed to the bad juju surrounding the Colorado bullpen on Thursday by blowing his third save of the season. Davis was tasked with protecting a one-run lead after setup man Mike Dunn allowed a pair of runs the inning before, but thanks to a pair of wild pitches, the tying run scored for the Reds. It was just the third time in his career that Davis has thrown two wild pitches in a single outing, but the third blown save matches his career high for a season, and it's only the start of June. Davis is currently leading the National League in saves, but he's also been effectively wild. Owners should consider this a blip on the radar and he's still one of the best in the game, but he hasn't quite been as dependable as in the past.
