Vernon Davis In Concussion Protocol

Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis (concussion) is now in the concussion protocol. Jordan Reed also remains in the concussion protocol and hasn't played yet this year, but head coach Jay Gruden said there's no talk of Reed going on Injured Reserve. Other than his Week 1 performance that included a touchdown on bad tackling from the Eagles, Davis has done very little in Reed's absence. The veteran had just one catch for five yards in Week 4. He's a low-end TE2 when he's active, and he's looking very questionable for Week 5 against the Patriots. Jeremy Sprinkle would be the next man up, but it's extremely hard to trust anyone in Washington's offense right now. Colt McCoy could be under center this Sunday.
