Tyler O'Neill Launches First Home Run
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill launched his first home run of the spring on Sunday against the Houston Astros. The 25-year-old outfielder is off to a nice start to the spring (4-for-10) with top prospect Dylan Carlson breathing down his neck. O'Neill was also once a promising prospect but he's seen his number dwindle each season since his solid rookie campaign in 2018. He's loaded with power but the Canadian has struggled to make consistent contact. He was the victim of some bad luck in 2020 as witnessed by his .189 BABIP so there could still be some untapped potential here. O'Neill had a 15-degree launch angle and 39% hard-hit-ball rate.
