Tyler Allgeier Not A Fantasy Option For Week 1

Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier is not a fantasy option in Week 1 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. With starting running back Bijan Robinson set to take a step forward in production and volume in year two it leaves a lot of question marks surrounding Allgeier for this season. The 24-year-old is arguably the best backup running back and handcuff in the league. If anything were to happen to Robinson this season, he would immediately become a legitimate RB1 for the rest of the season. Allgeier still has the possibility that new coach Raheem Morris could give him about 10 touches per game, which could put him in consideration for flex starts at some point during the fantasy season. With all of the unknowns and the fact that he's facing a stout Pittsburgh run defense, it's best to leave him on the bench until further notice. He is RB42 in the latest RotoBaller rankings.
