Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing obtained a finish of third in Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. It is the first top-5 of 2025 for the driver of the No. 54 Toyota after struggling throughout the year so far. Beginning the race from the sixth position, Gibbs lost ground early and fell outside of the top 10 as several cars passed him. Gibbs spent the rest of the stage moving up through the field and made it to ninth by the ned of the first stage, scoring two stage points. The second stage was quiet for Gibbs as he ran inside the top 10 for the entire time in the stage. He gained more positions during the stage, finishing it in seventh place while gaining even more stage points. In the final stage, Gibbs raced up to the top five, competing against Alex Bowman and Carson Hocevar before falling back to fifth. The No. 54 Toyota team then pitted earlier than some other drivers and used fresh tires to get up to third while competing for second against Denny Hamlin. Ultimately, Gibbs settled for third by the end of the race, collecting a new career-best Cup Series finish at Bristol in the process.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
