Trevor Williams Making Rehab Start Thursday
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams (side) will make a rehab start for Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday. He's been out since May 16 with a right side strain, but he was able to throw 64 pitches during a simulated game last weekend and will try to throw 90-plus pitches on Thursday. If his rehab outing goes well, he could be in line to start on June 18 against the Tigers, which would be a great matchup to throw him back in your lineups. The right-hander was 2-1 with a nice 3.33 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 54 innings (nine starts) before his injury. Williams doesn't rack up strikeouts but remains a valuable streaming candidate in deep leagues in the right matchups.
