Trevor Story Goes 0-For-4 For Second Straight Game
Trevor Story had a rough day at the plate in Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. He went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. It was his second consecutive hitless game as he went 0-for-4 against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday as well. Story's first year in Boston has been defined by extremes thus far. He went without a single home run from Opening Day until May 10, then went on to hit nine home runs from May 11 to May 26. Since that hot stretch, however, he hasn't gone yard once, putting him on a 16-game homer-less drought. It looks like life post-Coors will continue to take a toll on the 29-year-old as his underlying metrics are mostly down across the board, including a hard-hit rate that has dropped from 42.6% in 2021 to 37.4% this year.
