Trent Brown Helping Mac Jones Thrive
3 years agoNew England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown missed eight games from Weeks 2 through 9, and in that span the Patriots allowed 5.6 QB hits per game. Since Week 10 with Brown back in the fold, the Patriots have allowed 4.0 QB hits per game, which is tied for sixth-fewest in the NFL in that span. The Patriots allowed 5.5 hurries per game without Brown from Weeks 2-9 and just 4.0 hurries per game since Week 10, according to Next Gen Stats. Brown's return has obviously allowed rookie quarterback Mac Jones to get more comfortable in the pocket, and it has showed. In his last three games since Week 10, Jones has a 79% completion percentage, 715 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. He'll be tested on Monday night against a Buffalo Bills defense that allows the second-fewest passing yards per game (178.5), making Jones a low-end QB2 in fantasy.
