Tony Jones Jr. Returns To Practice
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints running back Tony Jones Jr. (ankle) was designated to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, which opened his 21-day practice window. The Saints backfield is getting healthier. More importantly, Alvin Kamara (knee) returned to the practice field as well after missing the Week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans. In four games (one start) before his injury, Jones had 19 rushing attempts for 77 yards and caught four of his six targets for an additional 10 yards. But that was also before New Orleans traded for veteran Mark Ingram II. The 23-year-old should have a role upon his return, but Ingram's presence makes him a less intriguing bench stash for the second half of the 2021 season. Jones could return as soon as Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but it will depend on how he looks in practice this week.
