Tommy Pham Ready To Roll For Second Half
10 months agoNew York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) is back in the lineup on Friday to face the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and left-hander Julio Urias for the start of the second half of the season. Pham is serving as the designated hitter and is batting in the two-hole. It looked like the 35-year-old might be headed to the injured list after leaving the first-half finale last Sunday against the San Diego Padres with a right-groin injury, but the All-Star break this week allowed him to heal up. Pham will have a tough matchup right out of the gates in the second half against Urias, a pitcher that he's hitting .250 against in his career with one solo home run in 12 at-bats. Pham had a solid first half for the disappointing Mets and could be a trade candidate leading up to the Aug. 1 deadline.
