Tommy Pham Ready To Roll For Second Half
1 year agoNew York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) is back in the lineup on Friday to face the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and left-hander Julio Urias for the start of the second half of the season. Pham is serving as the designated hitter and is batting in the two-hole. It looked like the 35-year-old might be headed to the injured list after leaving the first-half finale last Sunday against the San Diego Padres with a right-groin injury, but the All-Star break this week allowed him to heal up. Pham will have a tough matchup right out of the gates in the second half against Urias, a pitcher that he's hitting .250 against in his career with one solo home run in 12 at-bats. Pham had a solid first half for the disappointing Mets and could be a trade candidate leading up to the Aug. 1 deadline.
