Titans, Ryan Tannehill Agree To Four-Year Deal
5 years agoThe Tennessee Titans and quarterback Ryan Tannehill agreed to a four-year, $118 million contract on Sunday, according to a source. The deal averages $29.5 million per season with $62 million fully guaranteed and $91 million total in guarantees. The former eighth overall pick with the Dolphins in 2012 failed to live up to expectations in his seven seasons in Miami, but he took over as the Titans starter in 2019 and led the team to an AFC Championship appearance. They'll hope he can continue to play well when he threw for 22 touchdowns and six interceptions in 12 games last year, but Tannehill will struggle for QB1 upside in Tennessee's run-first offense. This likely means that running back Derrick Henry receives the franchise tag now, while the Titans are out as a destination for Tom Brady.
