Tigers Fully Expected To Trade Eduardo Rodriguez, Michael Lorenzen
1 year agoThe Detroit Tigers are definitely going to trade starting pitchers Eduardo Rodriguez and Michael Lorenzen before Tuesday's trade deadline, and it's simply a case of seeing which team blinks first with their high price tag. There are plenty of contenders seeking starting pitching down the stretch in 2023, so the Tigers should eventually get substantial offers for both pitchers. Rodriguez, 30, has been excellent when healthy this year, going 6-5 with a 2.95 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 91 strikeouts in 88 1/3 innings over his 15 starts for Detroit. Lorenzen, meanwhile, was the team's lone All-Star representative and has gone 5-7 with a 3.58 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 83 strikeouts in 105 2/3 innings across his 18 starts.
