Texans Sign Jacob Martin To One-Year Deal
2 years agoThe Houston Texans signed free-agent pass-rusher Jacob Martin to an undisclosed one-year deal last week, according to a source. Martin played on the edge for the Texans from 2019 to 2021 before landing with the New York Jets and Denver Broncos last year. The 27-year-old linebacker recorded only 14 tackles (seven solo), 2.5 sacks, five QB hits and a forced fumble in 13 combined games (zero starts) in New York and Denver in 2022. The former sixth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 will return to Houston to give them pass-rushing depth. In his five years in the NFL to this point, Martin has 78 total tackles (45 solo), 16 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 29 QB hits, four passes defensed, seven forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 74 games played (15 starts).
