Texans Not Expected To Release Brandin Cooks
2 years agoThe Houston Texans are not expected to release disgruntled wide receiver Brandin Cooks right now, according to a source. The Texans have no plans to go that route, barring changes, and it's unclear if the two sides would consider restructuring Cooks' contract. The veteran wideout was hoping to be traded to a contender at Tuesday's deadline, but that didn't happen and he won't play on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles due to personal reasons. The 29-year-old has caught 32 of his 53 targets for 354 yards and one touchdown in seven games this year in one of the league's worst offenses. It's been a step down from last year when he was peppered with more targets from quarterback Davis Mills, and now there's turmoil between him and the team.
