Texans Have High Asking Price For Deshaun Watson
3 years agoThe Houston Texans were asking for a package of six players and NFL draft picks from interested teams calling in about quarterback Deshaun Watson this summer, according to league sources. The Texans were unwilling to budge from their trade price for Watson, who remains on the active roster, even though he will be a healthy scratch for Week 1 and for the foreseeable future as his legal issues play out. While the Texans don't play to play Watson this year, league sources think that general manager Nick Caserio won't trade Watson for anything less than the six combined players and picks. No team is willing to meet the high asking price without attaching conditions to the picks because of the ongoing investigations into Watson, who is facing 22 active civil lawsuits with allegations of sexual assault. Although a Watson trade isn't on the horizon now, trade talks could pick up near the deadline this year. With Watson not expected to play all year and a potential suspension looming, he's off the fantasy radar in redraft leagues.
