Tanner Roark Executes Well In Third Spring Start
Tanner Roark threw four clean innings in his third spring start on Monday. He gave up no runs, one hit and punched out three batters while walking none. He pitched out of a modified stretch, as opposed to a full windup, and it remains to be seen if he'll keep throwing that way. Roark didn't have the best 2017, but he's a workhorse whose thrown at least 181 innings in all but one of the last four seasons. His control was his biggest problem last year, as he logged a career-high 3.2 BB/9. He'll be more valuable in leagues that count wins, since the mighty Nationals lineup will be at full strength.
