Tanner Houck To Start Monday Or Tuesday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck (face) will be activated from the injured list to start on either Monday or Tuesday against the Houston Astros. It will mark the first time he's pitched for the team since June 16, the night he suffered a facial fracture when he was hit by a comebacker. In his final minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Houck threw four scoreless innings, giving up just one hit while walking none and striking out four in 59 pitches. The 27-year-old will be an interesting potential pickup for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues down the stretch, but he'll be on a limited pitch count in a tough matchup in his first start back early next week, so we'd recommend avoiding him as a streamer. Houck had a 5.05 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 64 strikeouts in 67 2/3 innings over 13 starts before going on the injured list.
