T.J. Hockenson Has Thumb Surgery, To Miss Rest Of Season
3 years agoDetroit Lions Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson (thumb) underwent thumb surgery Thursday morning with renowned hand specialist Dr. Thomas Graham. Hockenson is expected to make a complete recovery in time for the offseason program, according to sources, but his 2021 season is now over. Well there it is. Hockenson missed the Week 14 loss to the Denver Broncos and will now miss the rest of Detroit's season. He can safely be dropped in redraft leagues. The 24-year-old will finish with 61 catches for 583 yards and four touchdowns on 84 targets in 12 games played. His absence the rest of the way will mean more looks for receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kalif Raymond and Josh Reynolds, while rookie Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra will split TE repetitions. Wright and Zylstra are only worth chasing in deep two-TE leagues.
