Stephen Strasburg Should Bounce Back With Better Health
4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg was trying to pitch with a numb hand last year before he underwent surgery to fix carpal tunnel. You can throw out his lost season in 2020 in which he threw just five innings over two games. Strasburg was one of the best pitchers in baseball the last time he was healthy, winning the 2019 World Series MVP. He had a 2.51 ERA and 174 strikeouts in 136 1/3 innings from July of that year through the World Series. The 32-year-old right-hander has topped 200 innings just twice in his career and is coming off surgery, but he should provide excellent value at his current SP2 price at an ADP of 73. Strasburg isn't expected to be limited this spring and is currently on track to be 100 percent healthy by Opening Day.
