Shohei Ohtani Makes More History
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani set the record for most home runs in a season by a Japanese-born player on Wednesday when he passed Hideki Matsui with his 32nd home run of the season in the win over the Boston Red Sox. Ohtani's major-league leading 32nd long ball came off the bat at 114.5 mph off lefty Eduardo Rodriguez. The two-way star set the record in his 81st game, while Matsui did it over a full season. Ohtani also threw seven strong innings on Tuesday night to help beat Boston. There is nobody even close to what Ohtani is doing this season, and he remains a must-start both on the mound and in the batter's box each and every day in fantasy.
