Shohei Ohtani Hits Two More Home Runs Friday Night
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani hit two more home runs in an 8-7 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. "What he's doing is kind of unheard of," manager Joe Maddon said. Ohtani allowed seven earned runs in less than an inning this week in his last start against the New York Yankees, but it that rough outing on the mound hasn't slowed him down at all at the plate. He now has a major league-leading 30 dingers on the season, the most homers before the All-Star break in Angels history. The 26-year-old superstar became the first American League player to record 30 homers and 10 steals in his team's first 81 games of the season. "When you watch Barry Bonds, it was a lot like this. When you watch Ken Griffey Jr., it was kind of a lot like this on offense," Maddon said. Ohtani is special, folks.
