6 months agoThe Atlanta Braves optioned starting pitcher Sean Newcomb to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. Newcomb had a nightmare outing against the Mets on Saturday, allowing five hits and four earned runs in just 1 1/3 frames. He has a 4.38 ERA with eight walks and five strikeouts in his three outings this year. Newcomb must find his command before the Braves or fantasy owners will consider him a starting option again. Touki Toussaint, the team's No. 6 prospect, tossed six shutout innings with seven strikeouts in relief of Newcomb on Saturday and figures to take his rotation spot. He'll immediately become an option for those in NL-only and deeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
