5 months agoThe Atlanta Braves recalled starting pitcher Sean Newcomb from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday and optioned Touki Toussaint in a corresponding move. Toussaint pitched four innings of relief on Friday against the Marlins and picked up the win, his second this year. Newcomb, who was in the rotation to begin the year, will serve as the long man out of the bullpen for now, which will limit his fantasy value. The 26-year-old lefty allowed no walks and three runs in 13 innings (10 strikeouts) in his last two starts at Triple-A. Newcomb has a 4.38 ERA, 1.87 WHIP, 5.8 walk rate and 3.6 strikeout rate in his three starts in 2019. He can be avoided in most leagues out of the bullpen, but he has nice long-term upside.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
