Sean Murphy Could Return This Weekend
1 year agoAtlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy (hamstring) could return to the lineup at some point this weekend against the Cincinnati Reds, but he remains out for the series finale against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Travis d'Arnaud is behind the plate again and batting sixth against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola. If Murphy, who hasn't played since June 17, isn't able to play this weekend, there's a good chance he'll be put on the injured list. Hopefully that's not the case, as the 28-year-old backstop has been one of the most valuable catchers in fantasy in 2023. Murphy is currently batting .287 (58-for-202) with 12 home runs, 14 doubles, 42 RBI and 33 runs scored in 57 games in his first year in Atlanta.
