Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier (lower body) will return to the lineup on Tuesday when the club takes on the hosting San Jose Sharks. The veteran has missed each of the last two contests after he suffered a lower-body injury against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, but he returned to practice Monday in San Jose. A back injury cost the 30-year-old the entire 2022-23 season while he appeared in just 74 games between the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns. Through 10 games this season, Couturier has registered two goals and eight points in 19:32 of average ice time per game. He has 20 shots and four penalty minutes to his credit but also just a pair of hits and a zero plus/minus rating. He is expected to return to his spot on the top line and top power-play unit on Tuesday in San Jose against a Sharks team off to a historically poor start to their season.--Brenton Kemp
