Scooter Gennett Playing In Sim Games Friday And Saturday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett (groin) is scheduled to play in simulated games on Friday and Saturday in Arizona. He's been out with a severe right groin strain since March 22 and has been facing pitchers in batting practice since Wednesday. A rehab assignment would be the next logical step. If everything goes as planned, Gennett could make his season debut in a week or two, so make sure to scoop him up now if he's available in your league. Gennett is owned in only 58 percent of Yahoo leagues and can really bring some power to one of the weaker offensive positions. The 29-year-old had 50 home runs combined the last two seasons in Cincy.
