3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) will work with trainers on Wednesday instead of practicing. The Giants aren't ruling Barkley out yet for a second straight game in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, but it's not a good start to the week for the 24-year-old oft-injured running back. With Barkley missing Week 6 due to a low ankle sprain suffered in Week 5, backup Devontae Booker had 16 touches for 69 total yards in the 38-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Booker will have an easier go of it against the Panthers this Sunday if he gets a second straight start, giving him some RB2 upside as New York's primary back if Barkley sits again this weekend.
