1 year agoWhen Toronto Blue Jays closer Ryan Tepera blew a save on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels, it was easy to chalk that one up as one subpar appearance since he simply allowed inherited runners to score. While Tepera was much more of a culprit in blowing his second consecutive save on Wednesday against the Houston Astros, Toronto’s defense may have been an even bigger culprit leading to the disaster. Still, Tepera allowed the crushing blow on a two-run walk-off home run by Astros third baseman Alex Bregman. Given the circumstances, chances are Tepera’s job is still very safe, but he’ll need to ensure he gets back on track for that to remain the case.--John Smith
