1 year agoThe Baltimore Orioles activated first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday and optioned outfielder Ryan McKenna to the minors in a corresponding move. Mountcastle didn't immediately return to Baltimore's starting lineup on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals, but he should make his first start on Thursday for the series opener against the Boston Red Sox. The 26-year-old should return to being the O's regular first baseman this weekend and into the postseason after missing just 10 days with a minor left-shoulder injury. In his fourth big-league season in Baltimore, Mountcastle is hitting .269 (111-for-413) with 18 home runs, 20 doubles, a triple, 67 RBI, three stolen bases and 63 runs scored in 111 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
