Ryan McMahon: On-Base Machine?
7 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman/utility man Ryan McMahon hasn't hit well so far this year. He's hitting just .170 over the course of the season and the scattered at-bats he gets on a random basis certainly aren't helping him settle into any kind of rhythm. With that said, he's become quite the patient hitter over the last 10 days. In that time, he's gotten 26 plate appearances and he's reached base safely in 12 of those appearances. That's a .462 on-base percentage. He's still only gotten one extra-base hit in that span, so his .050 ISO is laughable, but maybe he's starting to finally settle down in the box. Patience is a good indicator of comfort level, and if he's starting to feel more comfortable, his buy-low window may be closing soon. Oh, and he's one start away from gaining third base eligibility in many formats.
