Ryan McMahon Knocks In Two
5 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon got the start in one of the two games of the double header on Wednesday, and he provided all the day's offense. Colorado lost both games and scored a total of two runs combined, both of which were driven in by McMahon. McMahon got the scoring started by driving in newest addition Yonder Alonso with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. A single later in the game brought in Alonso again, but the team would be shut out for the next 12 innings of play. McMahon has had another opportunity to show that he can contribute at the big league level, but he's continued to be unimpressive in general. Since Brendan Rodgers hit the Injured List, McMahon has hit .284 with four homers, which is good for a wRC+ of 98, almost exactly league average. With so many prospects available for so few spots in the lineup, McMahon may struggle to have a future in Colorado next season, but with Rodgers out for the year, he'll at least get a bit longer to showcase what he's got.
