6 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Ryan McMahon had the day off on Friday, but manager Bud Black decided to use him as a pinch hitter for reliever Bryan Shaw when his turn came up in the sixth inning. It turned out to be the right move. McMahon hammered a 1-2 offering from T.J. McFarland over the wall in center, giving him his first home run in two weeks. McMahon has been struggling badly over the last week, so hopefully this will be the catalyst to getting back on track. If he doesn't find his way soon, he could see his playing time diminish.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
