Ryan Blaney Dominates, Finishes Seventh At Texas
4 years agoPenske Racing's Ryan Blaney finished seventh in Sunday's O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Blaney and the No. 12 team have been very strong on the 1.5-mile tracks this year, and today was no different. Blaney started from the outside pole, and first took over the lead on lap 69. Blaney would assume command of the race, winning both stages and leading 150 of the 334 laps. Unfortunately for Blaney, the bad luck bug bit again. In his short career, Blaney has comically had horrible luck trying to close out races he dominates. This time it was a late caution that came out after Blaney made his final green-flag pit stop of the day. Quite frankly, it was a caution that should have easily been avoided, but the result was Blaney being trapped a lap down. Blaney will try his luck again when the Cup Series heads to Kansas on Thursday night.
