Ross Stripling Earns First Win Of Season

Los Angeles Dodgers starter Ross Stripling has his best outing of the season in game one of the Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals. Stripling earned the win by giving up just one earned run on four hits, striking out nine and walking none. He was working a nasty curveball and took full advantage of the home plate umpire's low strike zone. The top three hitters for the Nationals (Trea Turner, Bryce Harper and Anthony Rendon) went 1-for-9 on the day with six strikeouts. Stripling had seven strikeouts in his last outing over 5 1/3 innings, so he might be trending upward. He makes an intriguing streamer for his next start against the Rockies in L.A. on Wednesday.
