Chicago Bears rookie linebacker Roquan Smith's contract holdout has continued with no end in sight. He remains the only unsigned rookie in the league after being taken eighth overall by the Bears. Part of the reason for his holdout is language in his contract that would allow Chicago to reclaim guaranteed money if he's suspended under the league's new helmet-contact rules, according to a source. Head coach Matt Nagy said he's unsure if Smith's holdout would drag into the regular season. Linebackers coach Glenn Pires noted that it's tough for any player to contribute immediately after missing so much time in training camp. Smith should be signed before Week 1, but his production early in the year could suffer due to his holdout. He's expected to be an immediate starter and could make a huge impact in his rookie season and in IDP leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
