Major League Baseball has extended the administrative leave of Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna by another week, taking it through May 28. This is more for procedural purposes than anything else, and shouldn’t be paid much attention to. Osuna’s court date for an assault charge isn’t until June 18; if past MLB suspensions in connection with similar charges are any indication, Osuna is going to be out for a long time. There’s a fairly decent chance Osuna doesn’t take the field again in 2018. For now, Tyler Clippard still seems like the ninth inning man in Toronto, though his horrid outing on Sunday could lead to other relievers getting an opportunity. Ryan Tepera has seemed like the better man for the job, but check back here for updates.--John Smith
