Rangers Not Committed To Bartolo Colon
Bartolo Colon making his next start on Tuesday. Instead, the team could give the nod to Adrian Sampson, who has been effective at Triple-A Round Rock this year. Big Sexy has gone just 2-5 with an 8.12 ERA and is allowing hitters to bat .331 with a .994 OPS in 37 innings since the All-Star break. The veteran is also receiving $100,000 in bonuses for every 10 innings from 90-120 innings this year. Sampson went 8-4 with a 3.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 6.0 K/9 in 33 outings (19 starts) for Round Rock in 2018. He's probably a better option than Colon at this point, but Sampson doesn't miss enough bats to be a realistic fantasy streamer against the Angels if he gets the call.
